2027-28 Board of Directors nomination by petition

The Nominations, Elections, and Volunteer Program Committee of the Board of Directors for HawaiiUSA has nominated three members to fill three vacancies for the 2027-2028 Board of Directors. The vacancies are for three-year terms. The following members, listed in alphabetical order, have been nominated:

Stevette Santiago

Stevette is currently the Chief Human Resources & Brand Officer for UHA Health Insurance. She received her Bachelor of Business in Human Resources Management at the University of Hawaii, and an IFDA Executive Development Certificate from the University of Virginia, Darden School of Business. Stevette has been a Board Director for three terms, 2018-2026.

“I would be honored to continue the work in providing strategic governance, supporting our mission, and helping ensure long-term success for our members. My cross-industry experience allows me tocontribute thoughtful leadership and stewardship.”

Alan Schlissel

Alan is the Managing Member of Schlissel & Associates LLC, a full service tax and accounting firm. He received a Master of Law in Taxation from the University of Florida School of Law, and a Master of Business Administration in Finance and Accounting, and a Bachelor of Arts in History and Political Science, from Hofstra University. Alan has been a Board Director for three terms, 2018-2026.

“My background and experiences as a business owner, tax attorney, and a principal of an accounting firm allows me to apply my varying experience and knowledge needed at the Board level. I can provide value and give back to my community.”

Terry Visperas

Terry is a Comprehensive Health Planning Coordinator for the State of Hawaii Department of Health – State Health Planning & Development Agency (SHPDA). He received his Master of Public Health, and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Hawaii. Terry previously served as a Board Director for two terms, 2019-2025.

From now through October 30, HawaiiUSA members may petition the Board of Directors for nomination by submitting a brief statement of qualifications and biographical data, along with a petition signed by 500 HawaiiUSA members. To request a petition packet, members may complete this form:

If petitioning members are successfully nominated after gathering the required number of signatures, an Election will be organized and conducted. However, the credit union will not conduct an election by ballot if there are no successful petitioning members, and there will be no nominations from the floor at the Annual Meeting of the Members.
