Spreading aloha to keiki and families across Hawaii

This holiday season, HawaiiUSA Federal Credit Union continued its commitment to strengthening local communities through “Operation: Packed with Aloha,” a Community Enterprise Project initiative that delivered 275 gift boxes to keiki and teens served by four nonprofit partners across Oahu.

Each Aloha Box was thoughtfully filled with educational toys, coloring books, crayons, personal-care items, reusable utensils, socks, and other essentials chosen to bring both comfort and joy. Our employees assembled the boxes with care, knowing they would reach children facing hardship, transition, or medical challenges.

Our first delivery was to Kids Hurt Too Hawaii, where keiki coping with grief and trauma receive healing support through culturally grounded peer programs like Surf for the Soul and Poi for the Soul. Just days later, we visited Ronald McDonald House Charities Hawaii, which offers a “home-away-from-home” for families traveling to Oahu so their children can receive specialized medical treatment. During our visit, we were welcomed on a tour of their Manoa house and saw firsthand the warmth and stability they provide year-round.

We also partnered with Building Blocks Hawaii, an early-education initiative of Impact Change Hawaii that expands access to preschool opportunities for 3- to 5-year-olds. Our Aloha Boxes will soon be delivered to Mililani to support their Pre-K students with creative and enriching supplies. Rounding out this year’s effort, we prepared teen boxes for Ho‘ōla Nā Pua, whose Pearl Haven campus supports youth survivors of trafficking with care, safety, and pathways to healing.

“Operation: Packed with Aloha” reflects HawaiiUSA’s belief that small acts of compassion can spark meaningful impact. We thank our partners for their incredible work and our employees for coming together to uplift the keiki and families who inspire us every day.

Together, we are building a stronger, more caring Hawaii, one Aloha Box at a time.
