  • If you’re a parent/legal guardian opening a Savings account or Certificate on behalf of your minor child, you’ll need:
    • Your own valid ID
    • The minor’s Social Security Number
    • The minor’s Certified Birth Certificate
  • If you are under 17 years old, you can open certain accounts on your own. For others you’ll need a parent/guardian to be a joint accountholder:
    • Age 15-16: with valid ID, you can open a Savings, Certificate, or Checking account. You’ll only need a parent/guardian to be joint on the account if you’d like to get an ATM or Debit card
    • Age 13-14: with valid ID, you can open a Savings or Certificate with a parent/guardian as a joint accountholder

The $25 New Youth Member Bonus Promotion (“Promotion”) is offered by HawaiiUSA Federal Credit Union (“HawaiiUSA”) and is valid from May 18, 2026, through July 15, 2026 (“Promotion Period”). The Promotion is open to all individuals age 18 and under who meet HawaiiUSA’s membership eligibility requirements. To qualify for the $25 bonus, an individual must open a new Prime Share (Savings) account during the Promotion Period. Existing members as of the Promotion Period are not eligible. The new account must receive an aggregate incoming deposit of $100 within sixty (60) days of opening. Upon verification of qualification, the $25 bonus will be deposited into the member’s Prime Share account within sixty (60) days. Limit one bonus per member. Fees may reduce earnings. HawaiiUSA reserves the right to modify or cancel the Promotion at any time without notice. All account openings are subject to HawaiiUSA’s standard membership and account requirements. Share Savings accounts earn 0.05% Annual Percentage Yield (APY). Rates are effective as of March 3, 2026, and are subject to change without notice. Minimum balance to open the account is $5.
