HawaiiUSA celebrates first Idea2Biz graduates in West Oahu

As a primary partner, HawaiiUSA co-led two workshops in August and September alongside Pakini Loan Fund, focusing on financial education, business planning, and resource connections. These sessions were designed to help entrepreneurs build financial confidence and establish stronger foundations for long-term growth.

“West Oahu has tremendous potential for small business innovation, yet data shows there are unique economic challenges that require targeted support,” said Katey Mobley, Chief Growth Officer at HawaiiUSA. “By working alongside OER and community partners, we’re helping to create opportunities for residents to strengthen their financial knowledge and build sustainable businesses that contribute to a stronger local economy.”

The graduation brought together graduates, their families, elected officials, and community partners to celebrate the achievements of the first cohort. The program included remarks from OER leadership, a video message from the Mayor, and speeches from officials and partners, including HawaiiUSA. Graduates then took the stage to present their business ideas before receiving certificates recognizing their completion of the program. 

HawaiiUSA’s participation in Idea2Biz reflects its broader mission to be a trusted financial partner for entrepreneurs and small business owners across Hawaii. By investing in financial education and programs that foster economic opportunity, HawaiiUSA contributes to a positive economic impact in communities like West Oahu.
