Celebrating over $40,000 raised through the Hope Collective

On August 12, 2025, HawaiiUSA Federal Credit Union and its Hope Collective partners Domestic Violence Action Center (DVAC) and Blessed in HI, gathered at the Blessed store at Ka Makana Alii to mark nine months in partnership toward raising awareness for domestic violence survivors.

At the presentation, DVAC leaders Ella Mojica, VP of Community Services, and Laurie Tochiki, Interim Chief Executive Officer, expressed gratitude for the partnership and emphasized that every dollar raised goes directly toward easing those challenges survivors face: rental assistance, childcare, basic needs, and transportation support like Uber or Lyft rides. Each resource represents not just financial help, but also dignity, peace of mind, and a chance for healing.

The check presentation was also an opportunity to recognize the many people who helped make the Hope Collective possible. From the Blessed In HI team led by owner Shari Yamaguchi, to volunteers and HawaiiUSA staff who championed the initiative, this was truly a collective effort.

Hope Collective merchandise continues to be available at The Blessed Life Ka Makana Alii and Windward Mall locations, as well as online. The newest release—a large, custom-designed Hope Collective umbrella—has been selling quickly in stores. Merchandise sales will continue through the end of 2025, at which point this version of the Hope Collective will sunset, leaving a lasting impact and paving the way for future opportunities.

“At HawaiiUSA, we believe financial wellness is deeply connected to the overall well-being of our families and communities,” said Tanya Lee, VP – Culture and Financial Empowerment. “The Hope Collective demonstrates what’s possible when we come together with compassion and purpose. We’re proud to stand alongside DVAC and Blessed to bring safety, healing, and hope to survivors and their families.”

The Hope Collective has proven what’s possible when corporate partners, small businesses, nonprofits, and community members come together with aloha. We hope that this initiative inspires others to come together to build a safer, healthier Hawaii for all.
