Fraudulent Messages: Here are fraudulent messages that reference HawaiiUSA FCU that have been reported. Please report any fraudulent message to HawaiiUSA FCU: Past Fraudulent Vishing Messages CUNA Scam: HawaiiUSA FCU would like to warn its members of another phishing e-mail that has been circulating. The fraudulent e-mail claims to be from the Credit Union National Association (CUNA) and offers a $300 reward. To view sample of fraudulent e-mail [click here]. Information Update E-Mail: We would like to let our members know about a phishing e-mail that was received addresses from HawaiiUSA FCU. The e-mail fraudulently claims that members need to update their accounts and personal records...[read on] State Tax Refund: Scam The State has issued a warning regarding fraudulent e-mails being circulated claiming to be from the State of Hawaii Department of Taxation. The e-mail informs recipients they are due a tax refund. The fraudulent e-mail prompts recipients to a Web site, which closely resembles the Tax Department's official site, and submit specific confidential information; including, social security number, debit card number and PIN number. The Department of Taxation does NOT send taxpayers e-mails regarding tax refunds. The State urges those whom have received this e-mail to immediately report it to the Department of Taxation at (808) 587.1540. Avoid Fraudulent Charitable Contribution Schemes: Unfortunate natural disasters have struck this country within the past few months. Fires, floods and tornadoes have destroyed the lives of many. Seeing these people in need create a desire to help these victims through monetary donations. HawaiiUSA FCU would like to remind our members, that when you donate to a charitable organization please be sure it is not a fraudulent organization looking to scam the public. Warning!!! It has come to our attention that phone calls have been made to members by someone pretending to be from HawaiiUSA FCU. These calls were offering a VISA reward package and offered gift certificates to Costco, Wal-Mart, and other companies in return for signing up. Do not disclose any personal information! Beware of Fraudulent Refund E-Mails: An FBI press release is asking the public to be aware of yet another e-mail scam. These e-mails contain false refund notifications for those whom have been victimized by Internet fraud. These messages claim to be from the Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3) and/or the government of the United Kingdom...[read on] Scam Emails Seek Donations for Earthquake Victims: Be aware of e-mails claiming to be raising money to aid the victims of the recent earthquake in China. According to the FBI, tragedies like this often prompt individuals to solicit contributions for a fake charitable organization.
