Vishing Scams Referencing HawaiiUSA FCU

HawaiiUSA FCU has become aware of another text message scam. Some of our members have received text messages referencing that their ATM card needs to be reactivated. The message is purported to be from Honolulu Federal Credit Union. It asks you to call 253-449-8258 and enter your ATM card number. Do not respond to this text message or call this number.

It has come to our attention that our members were scam targets. A member was contacted and informed they had won a free trip and free gas. To redeem these prizes, the member was asked to verify personal information.
ANOTHER scam involving text messaging has been reported. This fraudulent text notifies the recipient that their HawaiiUSA Federal Credit Union account was frozen and to call 720-864-1213 to update their account. The text message is received from: 8877.
ALSO, please be aware of another fraudulent phone call that claims to be an official call from the Social Security Office. Individuals are offered discounted medical service if they are able to come up with $274; however, in order to facilitate the purchase individuals are asked for their account information.
Recently there have been scams involving text messaging. These text messages notified victims that their accounts have been frozen and prompts them to reactivate their accounts. This is not a legitimate text message.

Please be aware of the latest scam targeting HawaiiUSA Federal Credit Union. Members and non-members are receiving automated phone calls to their home and cellular phone numbers. The automated message says it is HawaiiUSA FCU and request you to �renew on-line services.� The recording asks the person to call 800-505-9478. A recording from that number says, �You have called HawaiiUSA Federal Credit Union�s billing and payment services�� You are then asked to enter your 16-digit Debit or credit card number along with your pin.
