Community Connections - 2008

Thank you to HawaiiUSA FCU members for supporting our Ronald McDonald House® wish list drive.
The members and staff of HawaiiUSA FCU generously donated items for the Ronald McDonald House Wish List. Donation bins were distributed to all 10 branches and departments of HawaiiUSA FCU. Ronald McDonald House Charities® of Hawaii’s mission is to “provide a home-away-from-home for seriously ill children and their families and to develop other programs and partnerships aimed at improving the lives of children in Hawaii and the Pacific.

The employees of HawaiiUSA FCU once again volunteered for the 2nd Blood Drive of 2008. With the blood collected we could potentially save 105 lives!!!

HawaiiUSA FCU employees were on hand at the Muscular Dystrophy Association summer camp held at Camp Erdman on June 10. HawaiiUSA FCU sponsored the t-shirts used by campers and volunteers. At our booth, campers were able to make their own visors and picture frames. Temporary tattoos were also available to the happy campers.

On June 8, with paint brushes in hand, 45 HawaiiUSA FCU staff members and their family members volunteered their time to help paint Kamiloiki School’s office in Hawaii Kai.

More than 50 HawaiiUSA staff members volunteered to help at the Special Olympics Hawaii Summer Games on May 23-25 at the University of Hawaii Manoa campus. HawaiiUSA FCU proudly donated more than $17,700 to this great organization.
For three inspiring days, these Special Olympic athletes competed in various athletic events. HawaiiUSA FCU employees lined the track cheering these athletes on and shared in their achievement.

Shriners Hospital for Children continues to give its care and aloha to children in need. Through various fundraisers, a specialty bake sale and corporate contributions, close to $16,000 was donated to Shriners Hospital for Children – Honolulu.
