Community Connections

HawaiiUSA Federal Credit Union's staff and management are committed to our community by extending ourselves through our time, efforts and resources while creating valued relationships.

Below are some community events and contributions that HawaiiUSA FCU recently participated in:

HUGS Food Drive

HawaiiUSA would like to extend a big mahalo to all who donated to the HUGS Food Drive. Employees, members and friends generously donated 1869.25 pounds of food (1267.25 pounds from Oahu and 602 pounds from Maui). In addition, HawaiiUSA donated $4,390 to HUGS (funds were from the HawaiiUSA FCU Foundation, employee contributions and matching gift).

HUGS (Help, Understanding & Group Support) is an organization dedicated to providing support and enhancing the quality of life of Hawaii's seriously ill children and their families.

July 1st Blood Drive

On July 1, Blood Bank of Hawaii visited our new HawaiiUSA Plaza building, located on our College Walk facilities, to facilitate a blood drive. HawaiiUSA employees and family members were able to collect 38 pints of blood, surpassing our goal of 35. Each pint can save up to three lives (3 x 38 = 114 lives saved)!

The Blood Bank of Hawaii�s mission is to provide a safe and adequate blood supply for the patients of our state.

Special Olympics

The Special Olympics Hawaii Summer games were held on May 30-31, 2009 at University of Hawaii's Ching Field. Almost 60 HawaiiUSA staff, members and their families volunteered to help with the Track Staging. HawaiiUSA proudly donated more than $13,000 to Special Olympics Hawaii on behalf of all of our staff and members!!!

Lanakila Meals on Wheels

HawaiiUSA participated in Lanakila Meals on Wheels, Hawaii's largest and only island-wide meal provider for homebound seniors. They rely on the support of volunteers to deliver more than 350,000 nutritious meals, via 99 routes, throughout Oahu each year.

During this month long event, staff and management of HawaiiUSA volunteered packing and delivering meals to deserving seniors.
